Chile is a young country that was made out of different european colonies plus the indigenous people. Geographic borders (the andes, desert and the south pole) made travel from and to Chile extremely difficult back then.
I agree with Rod. I also think context plays a huge role. The Estonian singing revolution was a display of pride despite Soviet annexation and occupation. That’s okay, but it differs greatly from national pride in most other cases
