The new "Perfect Element" from Pain Of Salvation is a dark, dramatic, melodic, and masterfully intense gem of modern progressive-metal. Influences from Pink Floyd to Queensrÿche and Savatage can be heard in its sound. But even these lofty comparisons discredit the album's breathtaking originality. Pain of Salvation are real geniuses, their music is totally different, more original and unique.

I have been totally engulfed by this album in the last week or so. I was not familiar with The Perfect Element, Part I as I am with Remedy Lane and Entropia, so I decided to give it a try. It totally hooked me. I completely dived into it trying to comprehend and understand every song. What a journey, what an album, what a band! I am in awe...

Just got it in my mail along with Remedy Lane. Only missing "One Hour..." to complete the discography
Gotta love the album liner notes, "All music by Daniel except for the first half of "Her Voices" by Fredrik and Daniel and the "Once" part in the middle of "the Perfect Element" by Daniel and Johan."
What a guy
