Recorded at the Monsters of Rock festival on August 22nd 1992 at Donnington Park in England.
On the bill that day were several other heavy metal bands, such as Slayer, Thunder, W.A.S.P., The Almighty and Skid Row.
This appearance was the second Donnington outing for Iron Maiden, as they appeared in 1988 as a part of their tour for the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album. The 1988 festival was a sad day for music as two people lost their lives during riots which occurred during the set of Guns n' Roses.
Iron Maiden played the 1992 festival as a part of their Fear Of The Dark world tour.
This concert was a particularly memorable day in Iron Maiden's history because during the final song, Running Free, Adrian Smith, the guitarist up until 1990 (later replaced by Janick Gers) joined Iron Maiden for the final encore. It was memorable because it was the first time Iron Maiden played as a six-piece. This lineup eventually joined on a more permanent basis in 1999. |
