Someone uploaded a short clip of some new songs but it was taken down pretty quickly. Oh well its coming soon! Honestly I'd rather hear the studio before live. So I'm fine waiting. Wintersun is meant to be heard quietly alone with some nice speakers/headphones.

It leaked!

First listen. There are no words to describe this masterpiece. I now understand why this took so long.

Damnit, I can't find this stupid leak... Somebody better upload the album to Jewtube soon.
Aight, found it, yup this is good. Based on about two minutes, this should be the album of the year.

It's better, and better with each listen. I can't wait till a 320+ rip, or till I receive the album in the mail. Sons of Winter and Stars is beyond amazing!

First listen. There are no words to describe this masterpiece. I now understand why this took so long.

Absolutely breathtaking. The song Time brings me to tears, I am literally weeping each time I listen to it, even as I write this.
Unbelievable.

This album is HUGE. I'm overwhelmed. Can't wait til a better quality download comes out or the CD arrvies in the mail. Jari's vocals has improved alot over the years, he sounds even more amazing than before! "Sons of Winter and Stars" is a masterpiece for sure

I have to say, honestly, I expected to like it way less than the previous one, but it's more enjoyable so far (finishing the second listen). Definitely made the s/t sound like an 8, instead of a 9 it had in my ratings. Can't wait for the physical CD to arrive.

Yeah, the cleans have improved a lot, my only concern is that, when they play this live, 50% of the music will come from the backing tracks... the keys and the "orchestral" tracks have an immense presence here. And even with my newfound distaste for "big" and "epic", it doesn't bother me at all.

I had the same concern, but not personally really worried. Even if the majority is from backing tracks there is enough material on guitars alone to make it a very enjoyable live experience. Anyway I'm glad to hear you like it. Since it's really just half an album, its hard for me to compare it to the s/t, but so far I am enjoying it just as much if not more. I'm loving the orchestrations as well. I'm on my 2nd listen.

EIGHT years of fucking waiting for the bloody album. SIX years of delays and pushing dates back. And Mr. Mäenpää gives us a FIVE tracks album, out of which two are INSTRUMENTALS. I would have fucked him with a chainsaw, cut of his prick and punch his face into bloody rags. I would have, but I can't... because those three songs are some of the best fucking things I ever heard in metal music...

Well then you are an idiot because if you knew anything about anything, you would know that he has decided to divide the album into two parts because it was so long. This is only the first part of a two part "album". The second is to be released next year called "Time II". It was just so epic that it had to be released in two parts.

Ahhh....I take it back then. Sorry. I haven't heard it yet but I cannot imagine one spends 8 years on an album and it will be horrible. I hope he is right because he seems to love it.

I really missed them. Vocals, riffs, keyboards are amazing. It's a masterpiece

This is not the best metal album... It is the BEST F*CKING MUSIC ALBUM EVER AT ALL! All those Satrianis or Turillis are crap in comparison to this!

I am looking forward to read some opinions from elitists who call the first album "average and boring".

I adore the first album but give me a break. People who dislike an album, any album, and say it out loud, aren't elitists. People who insist that everyone must like the same things they like, ARE elitists

You can dislike an album and still not call it "average" or "boring", you know? Wintersun is for sure pretty unique and interesting in its approach - and this has nothing in common with subjective view of each listener based on his/her genre preferences or other factors.

Call things for what they are instead of making it sound like those who honestly don't find it special are trolls, elitists or whatever just because they don't agree with you and have no problem saying it out loud.

Oh, not yet another objective/subjective discussion... I thought the first one had nothing special, not bad but nothing I'd want to listen to again. Checked a few bits of this one and it seems more interesting.

And I do even find average a lot of bands that are in my favourite list.

Something just doesn't add up here, if only I could put my finger on it.
