It's not that common for a band to get this much hype before their first full-length, so what's the deal with Void Rot?

When you listen it you think its death/doom, you search pure death metal there, you see doom touches. You search doom you hear death. Then you figure out how unite 2 elements in your mind, thne genre is there.

All the elements are there but this feels rather lifeless. It's the standard but it sounds too safe for its taste. Maybe it's the drummer that doesn't push forward the effort put here. Overall I'd rate it a 7.5 but since it rounds up it would be a really, really low 8.

My comment above is now obsolete. I decided to listen to this again because of the Aberration release featuring one of Void Rot's members. Since I loved that release I thought I'd give this another shot. I do like it and no longer think it's lifeless but strangely I now gave it a lower rating than before.
