Damn good epic metal album. I can image DoomSword as one of better bands to represent this musical style and when they are telling these heavy/doom stories about vikings and battles, I cannot say that I know some other band who does this better. The key words here are epicness, great riffs and the vocals of "Deathmaster". There are some highly memorable moments on this album and they're mostly to be found at choruses of songs; the vocals and lyrics is a huge factor here. It's hard to pick any favorite songs here because all of them are pretty damn good, but if I gotta emphasize some songs, those would be "For Those Who Died With Sword In Hand" (I never get tired of this song and I like the title) and "Resound The Horn: Odin's Hail" (badass riffs).

Another year, listening to RtH again. Maybe you need to reach 666th listens of the album to find some flaw. I'm not there yet, hence why I cannot find any, and the album seems enjoyable as ever. In some ways, now, the music sounds like Manilla Road in their viking themed days with similar level of epicness. I wonder if Mark the Shark ever heard the album and what was his thoughts about it.

I really like this album, the songs has a grand shine to them, they're unique and well written creations. The songs length are quite high but it's necessary for the songs compositions as the riffs need to ventilate and grow to really make the impact they do. The mix would have benefited from a thicker and richer sound though. But on the other hand this kind of music benefits from a little bit of "underground" sound.
