I think the album starts to lose its power after the 9th song where the tracks starts to sound so ordinary and not interesting at all whereas the first 9 tracks were varied ,unique and utterly brilliant

I don't know anything about this album, but the use of upper-case in "ORwarriOR" really annoys me whenever I see it.

No you're not the only one. However, there are only a few moments on the album where an Opeth-style riff or passage is evident. Overall, the album is certainly worth the listen and you will find some of the songs will really grow on you through repeated listens.

I see where you are going with the Opeth comparison, there is a song where they use keyboards, can't remember which one, and the tone is very similar to Opeth's tone. That was the only thing I thought was similar.

Maybe Steven Wilson has something to do with that... just listen to that mellotron.

Not so picturesque as Mabool, but still good. A bit more technical then needed. Production killed some of the biblical feeling from Mabool.

This band would be way better without the Arabic stuff. It's cool but I don't know ><
I hate to criticize this album because they put so much work into it and in many ways it's a work of art.
But I just can't say I like it or like listening to it, and somehow as someone said it feels PRETENTIOUS. what the hell.
I think the problem of this album is that they "put so much work into it"... too much works kills inspiration and originality. Being an Arab, I love to see Arabic music incorporated into metal and Orphaned Land is the band which succeeded to do that in 3 albums. But this time the Arabic stuff doesn't fit the music... I listened several times to this album but didn't manage to get into it... It's unlike Mabool... I'm so much disappointed with my one of fav. bands....

I agree with you. I can't get into the music of this album at all. Good musicians who wanted too much and at the end they spoiled everything!

Fully agreed...they wanted all and they ended up with nothing special ,,,there are a lot songs that if they hadn't added it would be better...tey lost their focus in this one

I'm listening to it for the *insert some number here*-th time and I've realized that it's indeed good... too good for me. It lacks catchy melodies (unlike "Mabool") and it's more complicated so the listener has to think of the music and ATM I don't feel like thinking of it. Too bad, I really like the band.
It also could have sounded more oriental.

Good, No! Very good actually, but I don't think they can top Mabool. I don't know that for sure though, maybe in the future, they can prove me wrong.

This album grew on me A LOT. This album is very, very ambitious. I think the only thing I don't like about it is that the production gives it a less "raw" aesthetic that Mabool had. Still, this is a potential classic we have on our hands folks. People are gonna look back on this band and at least their last two releases to date, and think about how brilliant this stuff is. Mark my words. This is what progressive music is all about.

I'm with you there. I like the overall idea & sound of it, but the whole thing just turned out pretty boring by the 3rd or 4th song.

Negative things:
-The only thing that killed the Oriental\Arabian tones, is that they added too much slowly instrumental parts\solos.
-I really don't know what Steven Wilson did with the band, but i expected something more like Orphaned Land not something more similar to Opeth.
-They used too much acoustic guitar, i wish that they replaced it with Oud in some parts.
-I didn't like the story of this album "Battle between light and darkness", the story of "Mabool" was better "Story of three Angels, representing the divide of the Abrahamic religion into three main streams: Judaism, Islam and Christianity" that was Epic.
Positive things:
-I enjoyed the Jewish\Arabic lyrics.
-Kobi's clean voice was awesome but the songs were weak.
-The chick voice was amazing i really enjoyed her parts, what's her name?
-Favorite songs: Olat Ha'tamid, Sapari.
-In the first 30 seconds of the song "The Path Part 2 - The Pilgrimage To Or Shalem" you can hear roaches sound, that was Trve\Epic, because we sure do have alot of roaches in the Middle East, every single day in the summer i sleep on that sound!. its sounds like: "rrrrrk rrrrrk rrrrrk"

Perhaps not as fresh and exciting 'Mabool', but it still has that progressive edge that makes them stand out. A few boring tracks, and perhaps a bit too long, but overall i found this pretty good.
