After the 1984-1985 "Last Command" tour, guitarist Randy Piper quits and Blackie Lawless puts the bass down and takes up rhythm guitar and vocals. Perhaps it is Randy Pipers departure, or just coincidence that this album is just plain weak next to the two previous albums.
Don't let the previous statement fool you, this album is not completely terrible. The intro "The Big Welcome" flows perfectly into the title track which gives the impression that the album is going to be a solid one. The title track is then followed by two tracks that are classic W.A.S.P. tracks sure to please; but after the catchy "9.5-N.A.S.T.Y" finishes the whole album just seems to fall into a void of filler track after filler track. Thankfully enough there are a few breaks of great songs between the fillers, for example, the out-of-character Deep Purple-esque track "Easy Living" which includes W.A.S.P's first use of an organ (or keyboards for that matter), then followed by the semi-memorable "Sweet Cheetah" but that's the final solid song until the end of the album.

With the exception of the abysmal "Helldorado", this is the worst W.A.S.P. album. "I'm Alive" and the title track are the only songs on this album I love. Amazing to think they went from this straight to "The Headless Children". lol

I thik the reason why this album is not as widely hailed as the previous two albums is that the songs are just not as driving or indeed reckless as, say, on their debut album. On 'W.A.S.P.' you had 'Animal (Fuck like a beast)', however on this album you have, well, the title track. Needless to say, i found this album pretty good to listen to. Blackie's vocals are still awesome.
