Everytime I hear this, at the beginning of "Dea Artio" I expect Sinéad O'Connor to start singing "It's been seven hours and fifteen days...". The intro sounds so similar to "Nothing compares 2 U"

Breathtaking. Agalloch does their thing, but this is more genuine. To me, a bit more human.

What do Agalloch have to do with this? Wolves have more ties to black and shoegaze these days whereas Agalloch have more times with neofolk. :/ You're probably comparing them because some people online think they both belong to that "celestial" black metal style or whatever, but they're worlds apart. Unless you think the nature themes is enough to compare them musically.

Wrong. Compared because they are both from the pacific-northwest and on the same label.
Oh, Troy, will I like this? I REALLY like Celestial Linage.

Fat chance you will like it tbh.
I think you should try all their full lengths anyways. The worst thing that can happen is that you won't like one of them. Curiosity is a nice thing.

Dammit. I was hoping for more encouragement, lol. I mean I REALLY like Celestial Linage, I have been spinning that one A LOT lately.

Shit what more can I say?
IF YOU LISTEN TO TWO HUNTER, CANCER WILL BE CURED... THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD IS IN YOUR HANDS MAN! LISTEN TO TWO HUNTERS NOOOOOOW!
hmmmmmmkay?
It's great shit, the atmosphere (to me at least) is pretty similar. The thing is... I personally preffer to check stuff anyways because even if someone knows my tastes very well and tells me "no man, you probably will not like it" There's STILL the chance that a certain album might just well be *THAT* album that helps you get into shit you didn't think you would/could get into.
So that's why my answer was very simple and remains the same: I'm pretty sure you will like Two Hunters... But you might as well check all their other albums anyway sicne you never know until you try.
It might be a *little* more "harsh" but nothing to noticiable.

LMFAO, nice one! I usually get a good vibe from you and Troy on whether or not I might dig something. Just can't "feel it" from you ATM, lol.

Not inherently. This album has more black metal ties than CL, at times drawing influence from the traditional raw aesthetic of early Norwegian black metal but never straying from their more airy atmospheric brand of black metal. CL is led by post-rock and shoegaze influences, sometimes with those influences dominating the mix and incorporating black metal elements to support the overall sound. I found this album to be a lot more aggressive, although by Wolves standards that isn't saying much, being that they've never really crossed into purely extreme black metal territory.

post that might scare him away from even trying the album
Naaaaah, just kidding.
I guess my nature is different. When I was interested in checking out Black (and all the other extreme genres for that matter) I did not ask "will I like this?" to someone because it was obvious that if said someone would check out my list of favorite bands he will just say "nah dude, you won't like it" considering how NOTHING in my list of favorite bands at the time where even related to BM (it was mostly power/symphonic + Rammstein and Opeth). So I was left with an empty answer.
That's why I'm an adventurous modafuka.... at least with music,

To be fair, I try to objectively point out the qualities in albums that others may like or dislike based on what I know of their music taste. I don't say outright "you will like this" or "you won't like this" - and I highly doubt he follows my advice blindly without any thoughts of his own. My understanding is that he just wants some background information from someone he finds knowledgeable on the subject, which also strokes my ego.

Useless comment just so we stay on topic: Hey tea[m]ster, the first track isn't BM. I don't even think it's metal. Just dronish ambient.
I'm also blasting this album right now. Great shit. I'm yet to listen to the debut, that's the only one I have left I think.

I listened to this again today too for the first time in a few years I reckon. It came back to me pretty fast though, I obviously used to listen to it a lot. Great album.
