23:30 - !J.O.O.E.! I think rock paper shotgun I'd probably the only review site I use now (for reviews). Funnily enough they don't use numbers haha
23:26 - moonflash I agree, but I've relied on their reviews quite a few times before buying a game and have never had to regret it, so I'd rather trust ign's reviewers than Metacritic ratings, which again are just numbers.
23:20 - !J.O.O.E.! IGN are a classic example of a site that gives way too many high scores.
23:20 - moonflash I was watching the folks at ign debate the same issue about game reviews the other day and I have to say, assigning a number is only beneficial to those who're too lazy to actually read.
23:18 - !J.O.O.E.! Not only arbitrary but also weighted down by convention bias, such as people thinking 7 is an average score.
23:15 - !J.O.O.E.! Arbitrarily pulling a random number out of a possible 100 numbers = totally pointless and distracts from the actual review part.
23:12 - Marcel Hubregtse No they are not. Full stop. It is a chicken shit cop-out not giving a rating to review ;-)
