With their first two albums "I" and "II" the mysterious trio Darkspace quickly made name for themselves. Both albums where hymns to utter space, but focused on different aspects. Whereas "I" was faster and denser, "II" was a lot slower and focusing much more on the ambient side of their music. On "III" (it's getting annoying, isn't it?) they picked up the pace again, but maintained the ambient, free-flowing distortion of the second album. With these combined factors it is easily their best material up to date.

The sheer creativity in song naming is unbelievable!

The sheer creativity in the music more than makes up for it.

Oh of course, i love these guys. I actually really like it when a band names albums like that, i don't know why, chronology just appeals to me

That and I'd rather my musicians focus on the music as opposed to naming their songs in a clever or unique manner.

I II III etc. works fine for me, or 1 2 3 for all I care.

Or just pull a Fell Voices and don't title anything. Untitled albums with untitled songs.

Feel Voices are pretty dickish though, I can imagine how difficult it would be to search for a download of the right album.

About Darkspace, Not only it's nice to have it all simple and let the music talk but it actually adds to the misterious vibe when the songs don't really have a real name. It's like each song is an X file!

Maybe they don't want you downloading their music.

I'm assuming that's what the cover art is for.

I seem to be the only one who prefers II over III.

Rating: 8 I thought this band was pretty average at first. I started listening today, plowing through I and II and now III. First now I'm able to enjoy it. I'm gonna go back to the first two another day. III is scary.
