Bad English
Tage Westerlund
Its so rare when band change after many albums vocals from female to male, but this worked better a bit heavier, better, worked fine. But still we know this band because female vox, I perrsoonally liked this album, seems medieval age concept?

Never really liked the direction the band took on this album. For me it's too typical power metal and this "Gus" guy on vocals doesn't help it much, he is a good singer, but there's just too many singers in this style of music with almost the same voice. Also the keyboards are an overkill on some points, sounds like the keys are just there to add some variation and to fill some gaps w/o adding anything good to the songs, which is basically the same usual issue with lots of (melodic) power metal bands. I had the feeling that the band was on the right track with two previous albums to build a strong identity, but I cannot admit that this album continues that tradition, at least not as much. At least they went with a concept again. With the absence of de Boni on vocals IMO the band lost a lot of its uniqueness and character.
