Balls. This is something most people claim is lacking in the metalcore genre, especially when considering the new and popular bands. Well ladies and gentlemen, this album has balls, and tons of it.
From the moment the first track kicks in it's clear that these Welsh dudes are more than capable of delivering solid, heavy, fresh and technical music that is catchy and likeable at the same time. Yes, the mainstream influences are there but the emotion never takes a backseat in favor of catchiness just for the sake of it. The combo of tracks 3 and 4 is the best way to describe this whole album: a catchy pop rock tune that goes straight into an energetic song with heavy guitars. During the course of these two songs the dudes show their diverse influences from Queensrÿche to Metallica to In Flames, all done with taste and a conviction rarely seen in this genre. Originality does take a backseat as the main difference between this and other metalcore bands is that, while this album follows mostly the same formulas, they actually manage to create some quality music, which in my eyes more than makes up for the formulaic approach.

I just never could get in to 'bullet for my valentine'.
One or two good tracks from the album but there really is nothing special here.

Despite generally having a distaste for music that is obviously designed to sell as much as possible, I have to say I enjoy this album. It's fairly thrashy for a -core album, and being a thrasher, their enjoyable to listen to. The emo vocals are irritating at times, but aren't as bad as many other whiny vocalists. Only major downside is the breakdowns. Damnit, why do young folks enjoy those things so much!
In order to maitain a level of kvlt kredability, I will say that Fever sucked major ass.

I must say in middle school I listened to Bullet every day on my way to school. Those songs are no longer in my everyday playlist (I think I over-played them a bit), but that's not to say I don't listen to them at least once a week. The band in general reminds me of my incredible school life that I hated so much. I remember playing Scream Aim Fire on Guitar Hero and my friend asked me if I was bi-sexual...Beautiful memories.

I agree with you completely, sir! "Scream Aim And Fire" and "Waking The Demon" are the only two songs from this album that are worth listening to..

First album was ok... but the others have not felt as captivating. I can get on with commercial sometimes, but... this band only up to a certain extent.
