Take the brutality of death metal, the sick deconstruction of morality prevalent in black metal and throw it into an industrial framework - what you get is The Amenta and their new album nOn is some of the most deliberately raucous, chaotic and corrosive music that I have had the pleasure of enduring. Listening to this band is like putting your head right against the tracks and taking in the racket as a bullet train passes by.

How this album has only 7,9 on average is beyond me. THIS is how modern industrial metal should sound.

Not really. One of the most subtly soothing records ever.

Even I think that's weird you feel that way.

Haha.
But seriouly, their last record was not as good. Any comment on their earlier works? I,ve heard that the fans were initially pissd off by n0n because they deemed it too arty for the band

Wow, really? Sucks for them. I agree though, this was the last great thing they ever did.

Occasus is quite good if I remember. More straightforward and less crushing industrial than this but probably still worth a go. Maybe a little Zyklon-ish.

Yeah I recall the previous one to be more straightforward... I only gave the latest one a background listening and I dont remember finding anything exciting. Will check again sometime though.

But this... This is brilliant. Extremely punishing album.

Yeah I too only enjoyed Occasus while this one destroys everything. The Zyklon similarity is real, but this manages to stay just as crushing even years after its release, whereas Zyklon's albums all became stale after a while. Even if I were a big fan when I was younger.

The absence of something similar to this is depressing.

Agreed. A couple of the EPs are probably the closest I've come to enjoying anything else by this band beyond this album, like Chokehold, V01D and maybe Teeth.
