Like most compilation albums, this newest release entitled "Longing For Winter" from Sweden's Winterlong is a good reference for those new to the band. The tracks don't flow through chronologically but there is an even spread from past Winterlong albums and this new compilation also features four brand new songs. If someone wanted to listen to each of these "half albums" in order it would of course be only too easy. Perhaps it is better to listen to Longing For Winter that way if one is mainly interested in using the album as a research tool. For everyone else it's an interesting intertwining of progressed Heavy/Power metal. Read more ›› |
