Somewhat unexpectedly this sounds almost like old Helstar, a great return to what the band clearly excelled in. Most of the songs are strong compositions, I'm liking "The Plague Called Man" especially as it's quite a Distant Thunder/Nosferatu throwback. Great album, not their best, but better than what I'd expected from the band in 21st century.

The King of Hell sounds like Helstar in the way it's dark, heavy and brooding.. however it lacks the classy insane guitar work and memorability of the old days. I have a hard time listening to the entire thing in one sitting since there's not really anything that stands out. This one is hailed by many as a great comeback though so it's only a matter of taste but I much more prefer the albums James Rivera released with Destiny's End and Distant Thunder to this one.

Seeing the above two comments with ratings 4, resp. 8, and having just put a rate sandwhiching myself in between, I felt the urge to write a short comment.
Not much to say on this album though.
For a come back after quite some time it felt not too bad.
Nothing remarkable either though.
Naturally not even close to their first 4 albums.
