Have you ever been curious about what a perfect balance between punk and metal would sound like? Well if you have, Toxic Holocaust's latest release "An Overdose Of Death..." is definitely your answer.
People have described Toxic Holocaust's music as being "blackened thrash", which in fact is a misleading title for those who haven't heard the band. For a more in-depth idea of what this album consists of, imagine black metal vocals (though slightly less shrill and distorted than most, partially due to production), thrash metal riffage with a heavy dose of hardcore punk rhythmic patterns and production. The lyrical content is pretty much cheesy war/sci-fi subject matter, almost Misfits-esque. The tongue-in-cheek imagery mixed with the punky grooves makes this an extremely fun album. While the different aspects of this album are not all that original in themselves, the combination is definitely a nice breath of fresh air for fans of extreme metal.
