An amazing album after mediocre "Dominator". Sounds more power metal than before, tbh I liked their older riff oriented sound more, but I don't mind, because most of these songs are better than what they did before this album. Highlights? "Mistress Of The Forest" definitely the best song here and I don't see a better to way conclude this album (and then continue listening to it again from the beginning ).

Albums like this need more recognition

Among the greatest albums released. This is power metal excellence all the way. From the speed metal attack in "Astral Rider" to the larger than life chorus in "Forgotten Heroes" to the mystical atmosphere in "Mistress Of The Forest" everything here is in it's own way a classic! And anyone writing a song about Highlander (the movie) deserves recognition!

Fun fact that I noticed is that Paul Hodson plays keyboards and does engineering work on this album. Fairly unknown guy but he's been part of some excellent records as keyboardist, engineer and songwriter. For example he wrote the entire fourth Bob Catley solo album, played on the cult classic A.N.D. - Madmens Overture aswell as being touring member of several british bands such as Ten and Hard Rain.

Indeed, a fun old-school Heavy album this.
Some fillers to be found, but songs like Mistress of the Forest, Notre Dame, and especially Highlander and Astral Rider can really keep with the classics of the NWOBHM.
