Lord Darkness

The last CD wasn't good enough, and now comes this one, sounding even worse with its new vocals (not saying that he isn't any good, just that doesn't fit what the band used to be)...

I really wish this band could return to be what it was someday. This metal is just too dirt, really. No pun intended.

I can see what you see not. Vision milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind, cast down into the Halls of the Blind.

I actually think this was one of the best records of the year 2009 and definately the best Thunderstone has made even though Evolution 4.0 comes close.

What a horrible album. While the music is promising in some songs, the singer Rick Altzi who is my least favorite singer in metal, ruins the songs. I'm not sure why he even sings, why do bands hire him? Is he paid less? No band would possibly want such a horrible voice and tone. Once you had a singer like Pasi Rantanen (I know he's back), how can you choose such a horrible voice as Rick Altzi?

I agree. And don't forget the guys from Masterplan hired him. Same question - Jorn was their vocalist once, why hire Altzi?

Exactly. I never listened to Novum Initium again after its release. Although I still think it's a better album than Dirt Metal, but I'll attribute that to the songs themselves and not to Rick's singing, there's a huge difference in quality between Masterplan albums with Jorn and Novum Initium.
