Magnum is an old band now, and a really productive one. Every two three years, a new album is released. "Princess Alice And The Broken Arrow" was released in 2007, two years later "Into The Valley Of The Moon King" comes to our hands. And no surprise here, this is Magnum and the new album is some kind of melodic Hard Rock with Progressive touches. This is neither bad at all nor amazing too. Bought this one on the release day and the dissapointment was huge. Except for No One Knows His Name and If I ever lose my mind I didn't like any of the other songs, sounded like a album filled with left over ideas and I found the mix to be somewhat dry and boring. It must be now 8-9 years since I last gave this one a real chance so how does it hold up? Better than I remember but still this is one of the most anonymous Magnum albums that lacks the usual hooks and memorable melodies. I already mentioned the two best tracks but among the rest there's a few stand out tracks, Time To Cross That River is a excellent ballad (among their best), the two rockers Take Me To The Edge and Feels Like Treason are both decent and featuring some nice guitar work. But yeah as a whole this is among their weakest works. For what it's worth this one got possibly their best album cover. Made by my favourite album cover artist Rodney Matthews and this composition is just stunning.

Decent but predictable. A couple of songs are really bland. There is a riff in the last song it's so AC/DC, I'm trying to figure out which song it is.  I'd rate it a 6.5
