A couple years ago when I first started listening to "heavy" music, 'Cult' was one of my very first metal albums. Of course my tastes in music have gone a long way since then, but so has Apocalyptica. What started out as a project by a couple of Finnish music students has turned into band with international mainstream appeal.

There are four songs worth listening to on this album and they are all instrumentals. I expected more, but at least I get On The Roaf Top With Quasimodo, which is just BEAUTIFUL.

I have yet to listen to anything but the single from this album. I'm hoping that this album has less "radio rock" and more of the symphonic and melodic tracks that I have come to love.

Also, some really heavy stuff couldn't hurt.

That was my thought ! Every instrumental song seems quite nice, very different from each other, my favorite being Rage of Poseidon, Beautiful, 2010, On the Roaf Top With Quasimodo and Sacra.

Good album, tho the feat. song are... Dunno remind me too much of World Colides, wich is an album I accept to forget.

Rather disappointed. It followed the path of Worlds Collide (my least favourite Apocalyptica album), though it is more varied

They are beginning to go back to the instrumental era, I hope in the next album there won't be any "feat." songs!

"2010" is a good song indeed but you don't see any other good "feat." songs in the album...

To be honest, I was ecpeting sub-par "feat." songs, but I found even the instrumentals to even be pretty bland. the Best track would be "On The Rooftop with Quazimodod" and that only had a good moment or two. Every new Apocalyptica album to date had been a bit of a pleasant surprise, inevitable but worth my time and wait, but this was a REAL disappointment as far as an Apocalyptica album goes.

I can tell that in the end I am rather disappointed too, I've been listening to it over and over again, with now only three songs standing out for me, Rage of Poseidon, On the Rooftop With Quasimodo and Bring Them To Light. The rest of the songs with vocals are boring, and maybe it's just me, but where everybody goes: "OMG BEAUTIFUUUUL on the song Beautiful", I just shrug. Isn't it sad that over several listens I only remember 3 tracks? Damn you, Apocalyptica. You ought to look back to your past records and take some lessons from yourself. Sure you appeal to a wider audience now, with bringing in well known vocalists and making generally more ear-friendly, catchy songs, but damn...
Still. Praises for those three pearls you got on 7th Symphony. I really like those.
