  This album isn't bad, but i can't see any real progression from their first two albums,keeping it boring:P

Rating: 8 With better vocals this is a 9, a tonne of storming riffs and the rest of the instrumentation is great too, but damn this guy gets grating fast.

Rating: 9 I really enjoyed this album, but I have to say the production could have been better.

Rating: 9 I only recently started listening to NA but I'm hooked on this album. So good. Also, I like the vocals. They have a punkish feel.

Rating: 7 Great album indeed.

Reason they have a punkish feel is because they were one of the so-called "Crossover" bands that increased the hardcore punk elements in their Thrash (or in some instances increased the Thrash Metal component in their hardcore).

Other examples were D.R.I., Carnivore, Sucidal Tendencies, Corrosion of Conformity (1980s output), Stormtroopers of Death as well as hardcore punk bands that went crossover ala The Exploited or Discharge.

Generally great stuff with lots of moshy bits and a pissed off attitude.

Far better than today's whinier Metalcore stuff.

I will happily take whatever that has to offer, because it's proven itself better than anything this band puts out and other shit from the same era multiple times.

Rating: 7 Dunno if it's proven anything. It's all down to personal preference and tastes.

Rating: 9 This is my fave Nuclear Assault album (though the first 3 are all classics).

@deadone: Yep, that's absolutely right.

Then you need to work on yours if you think metalcore as a whole sounds "whiny."
deadone - 13.01.2014 at 01:16
Rating: 7 My taste is fine. Actually judging by your collection, our tastes are somewhat similar.

The soft vocals a lot of the Metalcore bands use is whiny or even poppy (same with a lot of modern Melodic DM ala Scar Symmetry).

I don't mind Metalcore by the way, but only when they refrain from their crap soft singing.
