Staff review by
Troy Killjoy

Everyone knows the story. Max Cavalera left Sepultura in the '90s (with brother Igor finally departing about 10 years later) and everybody felt simply swell about it. No feelings were hurt, everyone moved on with a smile.

Naturally, fans felt torn between the "old" Sepultura and the "new" Sepultura. Then a magical thing happened: Max and Igor overlooked their differences and reunited with Cavalera Conspiracy. And thus, the fans rejoiced. With the release of their debut, Inflikted, in 2008, the Cavaleras set the bar relatively high for its follow-up.

Sepulnation - 28.03.2011 at 18:44
Rating: 7 Inflikted is 1000x better... BFT are two or three songs... maybe Warlord & Blunt Force Trauma are the best, but the other songs sound the same; the same structure (4 phrases, chorus and again 4 phrases with the same words). IMO, BTF is a very lazy and weak album... even boring...

I love Sepultura, Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy (even Nailbomb)... I respect and I've followed Cavalera brothers for years, but this album disappointed me... BTF is powerful, excellent sound, but the songs are simples & predictables.

I got 3-4 songs into this and found myself bored sh*tless...

Rating: 8 Their is something weird about this album, maybe the melodic riffs, i really don't know, but i liked some songs.
EspeciallyEspe - 02.04.2011 at 20:30
Rating: 8 I thought the album was pretty decent. The only thing I was disappointed in was the generally short-lengthed songs.. I mean the entire album was only "34 MINUTES" long (minus the bonus songs). The songs I DID like didn't have enough to them.. still enjoyable, but too short to be truly appreciated/enjoyable/memorable. I still think for the most part it was good.... 8/10.
Favourite songs would have to be Lynch Mob, Killing Inside, Blunt Force Trauma, and Rasputin.

Rating: 7 Big Dissapointment, Inflikted much better effort, they lost their touch
Daggon - 14.09.2011 at 08:28
Rating: 5 Boring as fuck, there wasn't a single song I could like about this album to make me listen it again and again, such a waste of time, sorry.
Apothecary - 04.10.2011 at 05:47
It's average. No more, no less. Few standout jewels, but the rest is just generic groove thrash, nothing too special.
Neiluria - 01.06.2012 at 02:42
Rating: 8 I prefere the first album but it s good
musicalkaratekid - 26.06.2012 at 17:05
Rating: 8 The guitar work on this album as always is stellar.I think people are rating this lower than the debut simply because off the shorter songs and lack of variety, but it doesn't bother me one bit.
