Yes, it's weird.
Heard "My captain" on some compilation years ago and kind of liked its' atmosphere. Bought the album hoping it contained more of this kind... ...big mistake.
I should have checked the band photos, first - they are quite ridiculous.
And so is the music.

Odd album for sure but I think their songwriting skills are so interesting and charming. It's not something I would hear too often but it is quite an adventure, specially if you want to try out some unique symphonic black metal. The vocals can be hit or miss though. I understand if the dramatic tone might be too much for some.
