Coming back with their third album Dominion, one of contemporary traditional metal leaders Benedictum both confidently hit the listener with their aggressive yet melodic breed of metal and step into a new territory for them, and quite successfully. Unfortunately, as with the second album, the result is not as strong as the explosive debut but, nevertheless, there is at least something refreshing this time around.

Rating: 7 I was absolutely disgusted by Dominion when I first heard, but then gradually I saw all the good stuff it has to offer. It has its weak and strong spots, but overall the impression leans more towards positive. This is a far cry from their crushing debut, but it is nice to hear a perfectly executed Rush cover and a step into the prog metal territory with "Epsilon." There is some development, and Benedictum will continue to have my attention in the future.

Rating: 6 Interesting thoughts & review overall, I find this to be their weakest effort to date. It has a very pop'/ commercial feel to it (ala Frontiers I imagine) & sounds quite different compared to their stellar first 2 albums. Seasons of Tragedy had a mild progressive feel to it that suited the band well with almost zero commecial feel to it.....especially with the title track. The back half of this album is all over the place, ballads & half baked attempts at being heavier than they are ( dont like Veonica growling at all) & although I love their rendition of 2112, it coulda been left off as it is now the 3rd consecutive album with a cover song. Needless to say this is my least favorite album but having heard Obey, I am very optimistic that they are back on track again kicking ass.
