Galneryus' sixth studio album was probably going to be met with preconceived ideas, namely about the band's sound (are they shifting too greatly from their neoclassical sound that made them famous?), and the new vocalist (will he be as good/better than Yama- B?) and bassist. Truth be told, being a huge Galneryus fan myself, and a fan of the neoclassical genre in general, even I was a little anxious in hearing what they produced this time round.

Im really looking forward to this one, although Im still a bit apprehensive, seeing as Yama B was such a big part of the band, and an awesome singer.

have you heard the single with Destiny on it yet ? Masatoshi Ono does a pretty good job.
But ultimately he will never be as an amazing singer as Yama B
The vibe i got from the single suggests the band is heading back in the direction of their earlier works, which suits me just fine

I have! Masatoshi Ono is no Yama B, for sure. Yama B had a magical, unique quality to his vocals. And he is much missed. Masatoshi is a great singer though, if not unique, and he sings very well on Destiny. Musically...I was happy with the direction taken on "Reincarnation". I mean, Destiny is a good song, but nothing outstanding like several songs were on the last album. Hopefully the album itself will have stronger songs! xD

Have you heard any of his other works like Axbites ? well worth the effort to find them, though they dont have the same level of production as Galneryus.
Masatoshi doesnt seem to have the clarity or the strength in his voice, but that might come out more in the new album (fingers crossed).
Reincarnation had some real stand out track for sure, but half the album seems thrown together quickly as they knew Yama-B was leaving.
It also has the feeling that Yama-B didnt put all his effort and emotion into his voice like in earlier albums.

Burn My Heart is quite possibly one of their best songs ever...I didn't think anything would ever overtake Glorious Agressor or United Flag but this is pretty high up there with them
Also, loving the technical proficiency on this album.

At first, I didn't like this album after being bummed about Yama B's departure. But after a few listens, I enthusiastically appreciated the bands efforts to keep their style alive. Some solid gems came out of this one: "Burn My Heart" "Carry On" and "Destiny." Masatoshi "Sho" Ono seems like a good fit afterall. I think he'll grow comfortable into the shoes as lead singer in the next release "Phoenix Rising".
