Interesting... Eye of the beholder, Through the Never, Frantic, Low Man's Lyric, And Justice for All... How often do you see that live?

It's to promote their tour of Australia and New Zealand. You may notice that all the recordings are from previous tours of the area.

Technically "six feet under" is a metaphor for being dead and buried.

But yeah, I bet that'd be the first impression.

Well, I'm not sure if what I just downloaded was the real thing, but... if it is...

It sounds like a live bootleg and there's nothing of interest. A shameless cash-in, nothing more.

I wont downloud it but I think this will not be a crash-in because no one will buy them. Maybe just Australian fanboys. I dont know maybe it will release just for Australia and with a limited number.

My own thoughts. This band carries on only by name and not by the quality of their actual music.

Im a big fan of Metallica but I cant say that this one is even a shit haha, really confused I really was happy that Metallica wont release a lot of EP's (lets dont talk about fucking meaningless singles!) and now they started to release a bullshit live EP, well it seems that theyve gone insane.

I share your views about singles and EPs. Most of them are utterly worthless. You get so little for what you pay, compared to a full-lenght album. They're basically worthless cash grabs, imo.
Also, since I don't care at all for live songs and never listen to them, it makes those things even more useless to me.
I have many albums that feature a few bonus live tracks and, when I rip my CDs to put them on my MP3 player, I always delete the live songs.

What I find ironic is how people think Metallica is still a great band NOW. Perhaps they've been very good long ago but people don't seem to realize it was two decades ago. What I mean is there's no way a glorious past can erase current suckiness.
When it comes to old metal bands, lots of people still see them as what they were, not as what they actually are.

Well, it is simple, for example: i love Death Magnetic, for me a true Metallica's back, and i'm sure for more people too, it is even better that the black album, but well, i would say that both in the same line. So you let them believe that Metallica are the best still =).

For me, Metallica rarely stopped being great. Although "St. Anger" was a pretty big stumble, and a right mess of an album. And "Reload" I find to be a bit patchy. But definitely, Im not in the camp that thinks everything they did post - AJFA sucked.

As for this release, it is totally pointless. I cant see any reason for releasing it at all...

I'm precisely in the camp of those thinking that anything post-AJFA sucks ass. Anyway, I never understood all that fuss people made around Metallica in the 80s. There were much better metal bands than them already at that time. To tell the truth, I never liked Metallica.

Metallica's Death Magnetic is a very good album Im agree with you and they still kick ass in the live shows.

How could I forget?

I have said before that opinions on bands/albums are rarely black and white. There's usually a kalleidoscope of different opinions. Im sure there are some people who say "Kill Em' All" was Metallica's only good album. lol

@Hidden_Dictator: There isnt a single thrash band I've loved since back in the day, who have never faltered. Unless they happened to have short careers, and broke up before they could make below par material. (Im looking at you, Dark Angel!)

Since no-one seems to have got the nomenclature:

Australia and New Zealand are often called "down under." Not sure why.

What Metallica did was to take a phrase "six feet under" meaning "dead," and combine it with this colloquialism, making "Six feet down under." Also fits in with their DEATH Magnetic theme. Exactly the kind of linguistic genius one would expect, given that the cover art of Death magnetic was iron shavings on top of a piece of paper above a coffin-shaped magnet. Pure genius.

nothing against metallica musically, although, since I'm not seventeen anymore, I've moved past them somewhat. I didn't attend when they went 'down under,' although Lamb of God and baroness would have been worth seeing.

I love the idea behind this EP (and the one after it) - "To show you that we care, we are giving you the chance to give us more money."
