Long, long-time metal fan and had never knowingly listened to Decapitated. I saw it on top of the chart and decided to check it out. Blew my fucking head off! I'm IN. Fantastic guitar work, especially. I'm now a HUGE Decapitated fan. They make Vader sound like Motley Crue.
Decapitated and Hail of Bullets are my two new most-listened bands, along with the new Sepultura album.

Pure brutally, loved it through the high, the low, the fast and the slow.
Haven't heard anything since The Negation that really caught my interest, I guess I enjoy their new vocalist and find Victor as fresh as ever on the guitar. Feel similarly about Dissection's 'Reinkaos' & this album but feel I must also trek lightly.

Love it. This is the first album I have heard from them and it is great. So crunchy and brutal with great flow, now I know why they're popular.

This album totally slays. In the initial listens i felt that the track "Silence" was of no use, but after multiple listens i understood the need for that track. After the complete aural assault, silence is what is required, to get back to your senses.

Huh. Not the worst thing I've ever heard, but it's definitely the worst they've done. Some good songs here and there with a lot of filler tracks and filler moments in the good songs...I mean it's still a pretty decent tech-death album and once you come to terms with the vocalist it gets easier to listen to, but I really wanted this album to do more damage than it did.

Upon further review: fantastic. Can't wait to see them in Portland this fall. I love the unpredictability and complexity of the riffs and arrangements. Brilliant guitar work for what they do. Certainly, Decapitated is now one of my new favorites.

It needs a few listens to dig it. I didn't like it at first, but I gave it a chance.
I find it very normal and logic that this album sounds a little different than their other ones. A band MUST progress, otherwise it will end up boring and repetitive. Some must learn to understand and accept this.

Ahahaha I don´t know how or why is a good album for all of them!!
I only listened 2 songs, and I closed my Itunes.
Different tastes, but for me this album sucks!!!
you only listened to 2 songs and felt justified in rating the entire album?

Listened to this one a few times and it's pretty good. Especially The Knife and Homo Sum, those two tracks are killer. Good stuff.

That is fine? 2 songs is all you need to justify an album. Bands don't just change style after the first 2 songs. Clearly the music style doesn't work for him. The vocals for example, they sure don't work for me. After i heard the first song i knew i was going to not really get into this album. This album is barely death metal lol.

I can usually tell what I'm going to think after listening to one or two songs from an album, but for the most part I listen to it in full at least once before passing any kind of official judgment.
The exception here would be Lulu. I listened to... in total, probably about 6 minutes. And even that was enough to scar me for life.

Hahaha Lulu scarred me for life too. The lyrics are so weird.
This youtube video sums Lulu up for me
In my point above i still listen to the album usually as a whole. My point was that i can draw conclusions after 2 songs about key aspects of the band (whether or not i like the vocals, production, direction, etc). Listening to the album through means you can try to develop a liking for it.
As in the case with this album. I have given it two complete listens, and i find it to be mediocre. Decapitated has never had strong vocals, and they have declined in quality over time to the point now where it affects the overall music for me. Not to mention this album is not heavy enough either.

Interesting how Vitek gets writing credits for most of the songs
Not Decapitated's best, but at least The Knife is a top 10 Decapitated song, for me
Because the album was probably half written already before the accident?

The album that introduced me to the band. The fact that it seems to be the band's weakest record makes me think it wasn't a very good place to start, but I was curious. This is really good technical death metal, but you can't help but feel if one song really does sound different from any other or not. That said, the title track is absolutely stellar.

This album has grown on me with time. If anyone complains about vocals, this is further proof that not every polish dm should sound like Behemłoth and Vader.

what's with the vocalist?
Music wise I think it's just fine, nothing mind-blowing and nothing that boring. I think their strength in this album is their lyrics.
And I think this is a lot better than what they did later.
