"Angel of Horn" is one of the best song from the album and it has outstripped their last album completely. They deserves 8 from my side.

What the hell just happened to me!?!! This album is blowing my mind. Not a note out of place. I forgot just how wonderful GOOD power metal can really feel for the soul.

Pretty much what I was thinking. Worth a listen on Youtube at least.

Since the "main" computer, the one with speakers, is currently occupied by my sister, be so kind to tell me does he use the harsh or clean vocals in it

Well I won't be listening to it until tonight but if you still haven't heard it by then I'll let you know what's up.

Yeah, they all give excellent performances. I'm listening to that song right now (again...)
Their voices all (strangely) fit together, and perfectly with the band's existing vocals. The first few spins of the album I didn't really notice much of a vocal departure on that track; the album has enough spice and variation that the extra dudes didn't draw any awkward attention.

I've never heard a female vocalist in metal who sounded as METAL as that. That girl's got more balls than most male power metal signers lol

Right!?!? I honestly didn't even realize she was not a dude until like the 3rd or 4th listen. It's not that she sings in a "masculine" way or anything.. it's just METAL straight up.

Yes, just as Janis Joplin fitted her genre totally, Dani's vocal style is in its rightful place in a heavy metal band. Isn't it refreshing, when there are so many female-fronted bands who think girly operatic vocals sound sooo original in metal?

Try Triosphere, Beautiful Sin and Sinergy, then I cracked up when my proghating twin sister mistook the band for DT and her for James Labrie... obviously I haven't been playing a lot of Theater out loud for my siblings to hear.
I'm in the middle of my first listen... this is a bit more on the heavy metal side, sure, and it's pretty much awesome. Sounds a bit samey but I'll be able to tell the songs apart on my second listen, I predict. Very surprising and good, and has definitely got that South American passion.

Triosphere and Beautiful Sin have been my favourites for a while, especially Beautiful Sin. Sinergy pales in comparison. And how can this be compared to James Labrie? He's rather meh if we judge him as just a vocalist

Obviously we have different taste, since we disagree on both Sinergy and James, but what I found really funny is that I have no idea how could she have mistaken one singer for another she's been listening to a lot, thanks to my DT spamming, and yet can't tell him from another singer... which is also a girl O.o

Love Beautiful Sin and Sinergy but how could you forget Benedictum? Veronica Freeman has got to be THE ballsiest female heavy and/or power metal singer alive today. Shadowside's vocalist is really the first singer I've heard to give her a run for her money. These two slaughter most MALE singers in the genre, too, for that matter.

I completely forgot about her, probably due to the fact I've only listened to fragments of Benedictum albums. Honestly, as much as I love those warm and "medieval" voices of singers such as Kari Rueslatten and Candice Night, I prefer women who sing with raw metal power like Veronica and Dani. Not a big fan of operatic voices at all, they kinda DO belong to the opera... I don't like a lot of drama in my metal.

You don't like Triosphere? D:
But yes, Veronica Freeman is a very good heavy metal singer, and I agree Dani can match her. However, the songwriting of Beautiful Sin (or even Shadowside) is superior. There were a few standout tracks from Seasons Of Tragedy, but it lacked consistency imo. Then again, I should check out their new album Dominion soon
@Mora
I doubt there would be someone with the exact same music taste as each other

Yeah, I'm just referring to the vocalists. Veronica and Dani could take on most vocalists, male or female
So this is my first Shadowside album and I am so obsessed that I just today ordered their previous one as well. Can't wait!
