I just bought this album, was a pretty random purchase. Need to listen more times to be able to tell an opinion, but maaaan, Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion compels me to go about and thrash everything that comes my way.
I mean.. It's great, but goddamn.. I thought they were repetative BEFORE, lol. It's like listening to a song on repeat half the time.. Still.. Good, though.
This album deserves better, so good! Best Meshuggah release in a decade - "The Demon's Name is Surveillance" is probably the best song this year for me.

Better? it already has 8,3 as average rating. I think that's pretty good for any album.

Im talking in relation to their other releases. Its a damn-side better than "Nothing" especially.

The slowest song does that to you?
Does "The Hurt That Finds You First" have the opposite effect, or what?
Great album! There are always songs that don't quite work for me on all of Meshuggahs albums and it goes to Don't look Down this time, it has just not stuck. All the other songs were either outrightly awesome or grew on me. The last half of the album I find insanely listenable.
Awesome album! Probably the most caschy Meshuggah album. Demiurge and The Hurt That Finds You First gotta be the best off the record

The production on this is brilliant, almost everything is perfectly balanced, the vocals perhaps slightly too low in the mix.
Not the most enjoyable album for me compared to their other releases, but a few songs work very well. My personal favourite being 'Behind the Sun', a slow and very well written song.

My thoughts exactly!
It flows very nicely the whole way through.
Somehow I was led to believe that this album wasn't that great... It's not as bad as some people have suggested. It's just about as good as the album Nothing, anyway. I'm going to have to rate it an 8, though a lower 8 (more like 7.6).
