Ha, I'm checking out the title track right now, and there's a riff that sounds straight out of Kill'em All. If the rest of the album is this good, then this may be one of the best black metal releases of the year.
EDIT: Ok, checking out another track... Yeah, this is awesome.

More than Abzu? Wow. I would've thought the other way around, with this having a more primitive/extreme vibe and Abzu giving off a little aura of accessibility.

I find it weird to compare Ravencult to Absu. Okay both play thrash/black but that's it.

Because Absu is superior? 
No, seriously though, Absu plays an entirely different form of thrash black than Ravencult.
It's like comparing Thergothon to Shape Of Despair because both play funeral doom
