Rating: 7 Have to say aside from the slightly weak vocals (thankfully low in the mix) and technical wankery I really quite like this. Basically what Meshuggah would sound like if they played tech death.

I listened to their Cognitive Dissonance EP...left extremely unimpressed.

I listened to their Cognitive Dissonance EP...left extremely unimpressed.

The Youtube tracks for that EP sound quite different: shouty vocals, tinny production and overbearing drums. I wouldn't listen to it for more than a few seconds before dismissing it. You might prefer the debut album.

Those were all the things I remembered from the EP. I'll be sure to check it out then.

It's still OTT on the tech, but there's some nice clean breaks every now and then. I dunno.

Definitely a step up from the EP, and currently holding down a tentative 7 (just listened to it again today) but that might go down later. It just seems inconsistent...like it can't decide whether it wants to be djent/deathcore or whatever or solid tech-death.

This is one of those "messy wall of sound in the background" that has become somewhat of an essential on a day to day basis. I don't know how but it really has a relaxing effect on me for some oddball reason.
