Emphasis on also. I'm stoked for this one, hopefully it can be added to the mile-long list of great albums that came out this year.

Though I agree Skyrim (despite not being music) is also something I'm stoked for this year, I think you might be a little deluded if you still think Wintersuns Time is actually going to come out.

No, I'm aware. They've played some of the songs live already so I can see it coming out in December or early 2012. No reason to attack me on this. Geez. All I did is post an excited comment about my opinion that included speculation of an album release. Anyways no reason to argue something like a release date.

Pretty good black-tinged thrash... Vocalist sometimes turns me off when he barks like Dani Filth, but the album's pretty groovy overall.

I think you really should check this one out. Even I thought their previous albums were kinda boring. But this is definitely a HUUGE step forward for the band.

I love the guitar riffs and the sound they have achieved (specially the drum) with this album, in my opinion their best. The album starts very good, but even seems like the disc goes to better gradually until the end, but i missed a couple of songs more, you will want more of this good music. Attention to Rejoice In Misery and My Skin Of Deceit awesome!

This album is just so awesome! It's amazing how many cool riffs, different (and seemingly hard to reconcile) styles of playing, as well as vocals are packed into this album, hell even into each song! This has been a go-to for me lately when I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, a distinction which used to go to Immortal - At the Heart of Winter, and I can see some comparisons there. The more 'Black Metal' moments are some of my favorites (Erased and Forgotten) and that style of vocals has never been so infectious before.
But let's forget about all the genre labels here, that takes away from the enjoyment of a really cool, really catchy, original album!

I find it fast and nice, a tipica leasy black/thrash. Maybe it can foreseeable and a bit ripetitive during the listenings

I dont get what some people dont like about this album. it's fast ,somewhat catchy and melodic , the vocals are well-executed what's not to like about it?
the only thing I reject about it- is that it's often called black thrash which is just plain wrong because the only black metal elements on this album are the vocals.when someone mentions black thrash or thrashy black I think of Immortal which is just much more black than Skeletowitch.

People who call this album black-thrash metal have no idea how black-thrash bands sound like.
This is plain cheesy modern melodic death metal.
you heard it from the kvlt himself.

I'm not an overly serious fag, but I have to disagree with people who call this black-thrash. You've probably never heard any blackened thrash metal bands before in your life, like Deathhammer, Cruel Force, Venom, Sarcófago or early Bathory. Those bands are VERY different from Skeletonwitch.
Bands like Pentagram are teh pwn. kissmyassbitchez.jpg
Never heard of Deathhammer before, to be honest.
Well, Cruel Force and Skeletonwitch sound very alike to me. And Venom only does sound different for the production of their albums but otherwise it wouldn't be much different. I agree with you on Sárcofago, though. Well, everybody has their own opinions... But did you seriously call this album "plain cheesy modern melodic death metal"?
Also, sorry for my simple english.

Well, I hear shrieky vocals all over the place (highly reminiscent of melodeath bands like Children of Bodom), epic melodeath solos which are pretty easy to play, lots of double bass, melodic riffs, and extremely modern production. Also, the lyrics don't deal with satanism, something that's highly common among black-thrash bands.
Also, sorry for my bad english, I come from Poland.
I was only comparing the overall sound, but you have very good points here (production and lyrics). But every genre has its variants; for example, there are growls on Testament's "The Gathering", and Kreator's "Enemy of God" is very melodic but both are Thrash metal albums.
About your english, you explained yourself very well, so don't apologise for that. We are going a bit off-topic now so I'd say we should end this discussion.

Whoever said this was cheesy glam watchamacallit...no. This album is very very good, but not mind blowing awesome. Great production, great thrashy deathy sound and just a kick ass fast paced ride of evil metally goodness. Gripes include very short songs and album in general. I really think this album deserves something like an 8.5 thus why I gave it a 9 to nudge it forward. on a scale of 5: /5
