ThanatoSchizo may be unknown but they are talented. This year's Origami couldn't be a better testament to that. The album is very unique: you'll find many Portuguese and other folk elements and instruments, outstanding original female vocals and acoustic brilliance. If you like progressive rock or just acoustic sounds and experimentation in general, chances are this album will not leave you indifferent. Other than that, good music is always worth listening to.
Unfortunately, Origami was the band's swan song, precisely when they decided to revisit their metal career. But at least we got this goodbye note.

Ok! Here is a MUST HEAR for 2011. I don't care what types of melodic metal you usually dig, but this is worth the time. Soulful, assured female vocals; no pop crap. Interesting, inspired slightly proggy compositions, slight rock vibe, all awesome all the time.

The band was added to MS. Pretty cool.
I agree with you there about the album. It will surprise a lot of people if you they give it a try.

Oh why, thank you!
It really is a great album. But of course, not everyone may feel the same way.

Girl power... Yeaaahh! ahah and they got it right. the band managed to gather a lot of influences here, mix it right, and avoid total failure in a record that above all, isn't metal, but it's a pretty damn good ''influenced rock'' album, and that's what matters in the end... the music, right? specially if one considers that this isn't actually a brand new studio album, but a rework of songs featured in all their previous ones.

I know, right? It was a good way to get people interested in their music. Pretty good move, if you ask me.

For realz? Ugh! Naturally There always seems to be an amazing band like this each year that I discover just in time for them to break up. Well, this album will still be on my Best of 2011 list anyway.
