Scientifically , these ratings are significant source to indicate which is the best album among the band fans in MS ! [Anti-Joke Chicken]

Scientifically, the average album score here is about 8/10. That's 80% - the equivalent to an A in school.
If you think on average albums are near-perfection, then ya, Metal Storm is a great place to look for agreeable ratings.

I have to agree. This is the best thing Max has done since 1991. Well, that's my opinion anyway.

I just capped their nu metal tag at 2004 since they haven't really had any alt-metal leanings since Dark Ages.

And are you the one to judge what is average and what's not?
The average of 50 (or so) people votes is much more accurate than your "all-mighty" classification. And if you take out 5 votes from top and 5 tops from bottom then you have even a better average. I see albums you like that imo are total crap but for you they can be pearls. The opposite is truth also.
It's called taste.
Now for the album, I gotta listen this, for what I read so far I think it will be good. Dark Ages was a great album imo.

It's called missing the point and subsequently responding with a paragraph of irrelevant snobbery.
I laid out the facts of the Metal Storm scoring system. The average is about an 80%. That's not my system - it's the site's. On average voters here believe every album is worth a 8/10.
This had nothing to do with me judging anything, and it had nothing to do with a difference of opinion.

True... In this case it's more interesting to check out a an album with few votes and a high average rating.
But it's still very stupid to go by numbers.

Not going to discuss, really. I state everything i wrote before. End of discussion on my side.
On the other side the album is really good, Plata O Plomo is a really amazing. Still I think Dark Ages is better.
It gets a solid 8 from me.

Which backs up my point even more. If all albums are so easily given such a high rating, why bother taking those numbers with any more than a grain of salt? The MS numbers do very little to indicate whether an album is actually worth listening to or not.
On the flip side, sometimes 20 votes gets you an average score of 4.5 or something because people lash out against a band/genre/whatever. I find the ratings here to be more "philosophical" than meritocratic. People either think "I like this band" or "I hate this band" and vote accordingly, as opposed to "I like/hate this album".
Completely off-topic rant but whatevs.

I liked this album, I'll give it an 8, although the opening riff from Gladiator sounds suspiciously like Drowned by Entombed.

not too difficult since that album was extremely weak and only got praised because it had Igor and Max together. Max hasn't released a worthwhile album since leaving Sepultura

that's mostly true... the level on Beneath the Remains, Arise and Chaos A.D. was really high...

I've been listening to this album a couple weeks now...The first time i listened to it i liked it right away. But it just keeps getter better every time i listen. I'd say it's Soulfly's best album, even better than "Dark Ages." I know most of you stubborn asses won't even bother listening because Max has put out a few nu-metal albums over 10 years ago, but this album is definitely better than anything Seputura has done since "Chaos Ad" or maybe even "Arise.".... Any fan of Max should check this out. If you don't like him personally, put that shit aside. This album kills!... 9

Well Chaos AD was already a pretty weak album in my book. But then again Sepultura have only released two good albums Arise and Beneath The Remains, and one okayish one Schizophrenia and the rest vary from terrible to meoiocre

And tbh Soulfly has never even released an okayish album.

To be honest, the only soulfly album that i find boring are 'Primitive' and '3'-the rest i can honestly say i have enjoyed listening to. However, with 'Enslaved', they sound much more invigorated than they have done in the last few years. 'World Scum' didn't impress me all that much, but in the context of an album as vicious and ambitious as this one, it fits in perfectly. You can tell that cavalera put a lot of effort into this album, specifically because songs like 'Revengeance' and 'Treachery' break boundaries whilst maintaining their raw emotions. 'Enslaved' isn't all fury and power however, and as the very exprimental 'Plata a Plomo' shows, Cavalera still has a few tricks up his sleeve to keep the album original. The only thing i could say is that Dez Fafara isn't really needed, nonetheless he adds to the ferocity.

Well, yes if you compare with Beneath or Arise, Chaos is clearly the weakest of the three... but imo i still think that Chaos has better songs than Enslaved . When I start to listen to Enslaved I get bored quickly, such thing doesn't occur when listening to Chaos... so who cares
