09:51 - deadone Yup I avoid Metal Injection too. All they seem to post is bloody lists (top 7 blah of the blah, top 9.37 bleurgh of 6th century etc etc) Moronic crap indeed!
09:49 - ScreamingSteelUS Granted, I have more experience with hating Metal Injection. Metal Sucks is often relatively inoffensive.
09:42 - deadone Maco, it's the truth. They've been involved in feuds with some musicians. They do post tabloid style crap designed more to draw one in with big outrageous titles and yet have very little content.
09:26 - Joe Zombie I have found a good number of bands because of MetalSucks. I don't read their articles or reviews. I also like their "Shit That Comes Out Today" feature. Good way to keep up with new stuff.
09:25 - Maco What happened on metalsucks to say something like that.
Dunno what to think of this. It is ridiculously brutal, to the point that it alone provides some enjoyability, but most of the tracks are indistinguishable from one another and are pretty bland. District of Misery and the title track are really good though (seriously, the atmosphere on District is fucking creepy) and I do enjoy this for what it is.
I've listened to ten minutes of The Ocean before asking myself why Oceano were playing atmo sludge and finally noticing my error. I've interlaced songs from this album with songs from Ascendants, and the change is impressive. They moved on from being actually generic to a multi-layered monster mixing deathcore, djent and atmospherics like few others know how to. They now feel like a bridge between Despised Icon (I agree there Tanner) and Ion Dissonance, and in no way generic.
Back to this album though, very primal, very basic, but with that claustrophobia-inducing feeling your were talking about, Bence. I don't really know what happened with Incisions, this and the latest is where it's at.
