Close your eyes, lean back; prepare yourself for liftoff. Rise out from your seat, through your ceiling, your roof, and into the sky above as Alrakis embraces you, freeing mind and body from this terrestrial realm. Soon, as you rise through the heavens, away from the reaches of the Earth, you begin a cosmic black metal journey not unlike that of Sun Of The Blind or Chaos Moon.

This comes up a bit short of monolithic, but it's still an amazing album that more people should hear.

When it was first recommended to me (well, to anyone willing to listen - by InnerSelf I believe) it was described as something like a mix of Darkspace, Arcana Coelestia and Lurker of Chalice or some awesome combination like that. And when I first heard it, I was instantly drawn in.

The latest trend of Cosmic Black has overflowed the scene with some rather dull and average albums, but this one really stands out. the balance between the ambient parts and the more"metal" parts is great. highly recommended like Troy said

Man, thanks for recommending this in that thread back then. This shit is immense, I love it.
Gets a bit samey near the end, but quite grand nonetheless.

It is immense indeed I do agree that it gets samey, but I think that he meant it to be like this probably to keep that trance effect going. though it might had been better with some tempo changes and a couple of more interesting drum patterns

A really excellent album, particularly "Gas und staub...etc." It's not often that I play an atmospheric black metal song over and over again.

Cosmic melancholia.

Pretty good stuff, though it's not my favourite genre - but what is my genre by the way? I've always wondered about it.

The best shoegaze along with Cold Body Radiation from 2011. Hard choice but this wins.

Better than Darkspace's whole album . Especially "M20", stunning. NGC 3242 (Ghost of Jupiter), Magnificent.

Sometimes I forgot how good this album truly is and then I listen to it.
With repeated listens I came to appreciate the last 2 tracks, which are more on the ambient side, a lot. I'm a sucker for non-cheesy keyboard work.
