I'd recommend In Sickness and In Dreams though, probably my favourite heavy metal album of all time. Subtly mixes black metal into the mix (in fact the album album of theirs that does and the only album of theirs really worth listening to).
The band is nothing like Pharaoh, which is power metal. Dawnbringer's latest stuff is heavy metal. Chris Black, the Dawnbringer mainman, is the same that contributes to Nachtmystium, and plays in Superchrist and High Spirits.

Weel High Spirits is totally friggging awesome. Might have to put on their 2011 vinyl again in a short while, seeing as I am on an 70s and 80s hard rock vinyl trip tonight with Vandenberg, Blackfoot, Thin Lizzy, Vanderbusyt (even though they are from the 2010s hahahahaha)

Listening to this album for the second time (lovin' it), and noticed that the riff around 2:27 in ''III'' sounds an awful lot like one from ''The Year Of The Blizzard'', thanks for the explanation.
Also, brilliant album, will be checking out their discography.

That does sound very similar.
Apparently they used to play a black/heavy hybrid, still need to check that out myself, sounds like something unusual.

You should check out In Sickness And In Dreams. Quite probably my favourite heavy metal record of all time to be honest.
Will do, should have a bit of an irregular sound I anticipate. I can't recall any bands which mix black and heavy of the top of my head. I'm guessing the heavy aspect was more prominent than the black, then they just dropped the black altogether for this one?

It's basically heavy metal with a black metal aesthetic in the production and blackened vocals. It's very non-abrasive so I would imagine black metal haters might also dig it. Basically heavy / speed metal with an edge.

Ah goodo, sounds like I shouldn't have much trouble getting into it then. The album covers kinda give off that black metal vibe a bit I noticed.
Also worth noting how different this band sounded on their debut album. Black metal + flamenco (or some kind of latin music) on this particular, and great, track:
