Skálmöld released their second album, Börn Loka, last year as the follow up to Baldur, their first release, but it's not a sequel. On this album they find themselves experimenting with the more darker and heavier sides of metal. I can't say that I didn't expect them to try this (knowing the Icelandic scene).

Rating: 8 Skálmöld just revealed the name of song nr. 3 on their studio blog on their Facebook. Gleipnir is the name.

Rating: 8 Oh I'm so buying this album on my visit back "home" to Iceland this 29th, hopefully it'll be available on vinyl.

I don't see the connection between Skálmöld and Wintersun. Also, this album is pretty average, some good moments in it but overall it sounds rather uninspired.

Well many ppl falsely believe Wintersun is a fine example of viking metal...

and if you say this album is uninspired, fair enough, but then Time I lies in the very depths of darkest abyss in that matter...

I only got this album because of the song Gleipnir. That sound is so damn uplifting and then he starts grunting which I just find really funny. I didn't like the rest though, but I can't understand the Islandic language so I guess I'm seriously missing something.

Rating: 8 Not quite as good as their debut but still good stuff!
