Why so low rated? they are killing those boring bands like Spawn Of Possession, Gorod etc. that are so high rated.

Why compare them to tech-death bands? This is pretty straightforward death metal...
Apparently reviewers are hyping this thing up the ass, but I fail to see what's so special about it. Sounds like a groove-laden Behemoth release. :/

Yep, agreed. I also fail to see what's so special about it.

Put me on that bandwagon. Very bland, uninspired stuff this. Definitely not a good moment for UK death metal.

I miss Akercocke
It's not like they've done anything for five years =P If you hadn't know about them being split you probably wouldn't miss them.
But yeah, sucksville though. What a void they've left.

And Dãm, Mithras, Sarpanitum, Bolt Thrower and Dragged into Sunlight if you like. That's pretty much it that I can think of.

Agreed with most here that it's bland. I shouldn't have bought it. Might rate it lower
Their other album is better

I tried and I only really liked about 3 songs of this album. Even those songs were only good because they were catchy. This band can still pull off a really good album potentially. I don't think it's happened yet.

Bah, you're all nuts. Pretty meaty sounding album this, tasty too. Of what I've heard of Behemoth I'd easily go for this instead. Pretty much every track punishes to the same extent as the others, though "A Drone In The Hive" is noticeably better for me.

All the songs have that heavy consistency, but the structure just drags to me. The songs never really pick up. A drone in the hive is good and so is The Promethean, and Cain Enable actually withstood time the others went into that musical continuum!

Some of them seem to drag the album on a bit, "Grinding Down the Gears" does that for me (appropriate song-title too, kind of wears the albums overall sound out a bit). In general Death metal is rarely something which I don't find a bit of that 'samey' feel going on, so I suppose as I don't expect a lot of variance I don't really look for that quality in the music as much as I would elsewhere. Possibly foolish of me, I am by no means over familiar with the genre, but that's the way I've approached it so far.

Good point, I'm no expert either and by variety I don't expect these guys to jump into some other genre or something. It should stay within the boundaries for the most part to keep itself in death metal. Uninspired might be a better word for the songs like grinding down the gears.

I really enjoy it, in my opinion should have a minimum of eight rating, imo.

One of the more boring releases I've heard this year. Only really listened because the album cover looked cool
