The pretty groovy cover art of As All Torn Asunder gives you a pretty decent idea of what to expect musically. In a funeral foggy graveyard we watch a well-dressed dandy as he escorts his ghostly lady to the black horses and creepy pilot of the "bring out your dead" wagon…
Clearly When Nothing Remains is one of those Crustpunk/Grind bands that crams 47 songs into 12.5 minutes of music.

So, here is yet another melodic death/doom album in the most stereotypical of ways. Seeing as it was released on Solitude Productions and that member(s) from both Nox Aurea and Draconian were involed, the final product was by no means surprising.
Having said that, I'm starting to get somewhat fed up with this formula to be honset and I had hoped that at least something about As All Torn Asunder would make it stand out enough to keep me interested but unfortunately that was not the case. Don't get me wrong, the album is good for what it is but the complete lack of any character and memorability made it kind of forgettable in the end.
