15:21 - Zephod I've only watched Alien 3&4 once and they didn't leave a big impression on me.
15:18 - !J.O.O.E.! Alien is far better than Aliens, but after watching the assembly cut version of Alien 3 I actually don't think the gap between Aliens and Alien 3 is that big. In many ways I prefer Alien 3 now. Resurrection is fun, but a bit empty
15:15 - Zephod PocketMetal, what the second Alien movie the best? Very few movies in general beat the first one for me.
15:02 - ScreamingSteelUS They were smart about it. They had real special effects pioneers in multiple fields working together ("they spared no expense"), and the results were great. Their effects have dignity and beauty, not like the CGI orgies of today
14:45 - !J.O.O.E.! Or rather, they actually took every step to hide the fact that CGI doesn't look realistic.
14:38 - !J.O.O.E.! Puppetry aside, the CGI in Jurassic Park looks better than 99% of films with CGI these days.
01. Daemonum Lux 02. Satan Holds Dominion 03. Raptured To Divine Perversion 04. Jesus Wept (Again And Again) 05. Thy Father Suicide 06. Misanthropic Race 07. Whores And Harlots 08. Asphyxiation (Hands Of God) 09. Concubina Do Diabo 10. Devil's Black Blood
Some of the songs here are really quite brilliant, such as "Raptured to divine perversion", "Thy father suicide" and "Misanthropic race". A couple of songs are inconsistent and come across as incomplete but the rest of the album is appropriately chaotic and malevolent. A great return to form for the band.
