"In case some of you missed it, the new track "PRANCER" is available for digital download. Don't worry. The rest of the album sounds like Taylor Swift...

In a wood chipper."

So here's what to expect from the album

Thought I'd give the song Paranoia Shields a chance and I was actually very impressed. Will have to check out the rest of the album.

Yes, Taylor Swift is also very good in making mathcore masterpieces.

"Taylor Swift" appears 3 times here... It's very likely that I'm missing something but... I think I'll avoid listening to his album if it has any kind of relation t....... Her.

It's just a quote of a joke the band posted on their facebook page, of course there is no relation at all. Well maaaaaybe the breakup lyrics

Just got around to listening this. Exceptionally good. I love how they blend chaotic dissonance with catchiness and accessability.

Also, I am saying this as someone who, for some reason, never listened to anything off this band aside from Calculating Infinity, so I only have that album as a point of comparison, but does anyone else think this album is VERY SikTh-esque?

I mean, there is a sort of eccentic factor to it that really reminds me of SikTh and was definitely not present on CI. At some places the music nearly made me laugh (in a good sense) due to how weird some passages and instrument usage was, and the vocals I also find to be very SikTh-esque in their over-the-topness.

Ok, I'm not much of a Dillinger Escape Plan fan... but this album is brilliant.
By far the best of their discography!

Same here, I was never really mad about them, but this thing is just awesome. First of their records that caught me properly.

DEP have grown on me a ton, and it's pretty much due to this album. I think it's a pretty close tie between this and Miss Machine as my favorite, but they're both fantastic.

Yeah, same here actually. It's been a few months since I posted that comment, and this album got me to look back at their discography. I can't believe I didn't notice it on my original listenings, but these guys are actually pretty damn clever! Ire Works is now definitely up there with this one as my favourite.

Maybe I should give this a go then. They never clicked with me. Even saw them live and pretty sure I was the only person there thoroughly unimpressed.

Yeah it's one those bands I really didn't like before. I remember hearing Ire Works when it got out and I hated. I needed time and fresh ears. Maybe your metaphorical ears are finally clean enough to do the same. I know the actual ones aren't.

I always thought washing behind your ears was just an old wife's tale. Are you saying there could be stuff behind them?

I will consider possibly maybe thinking about listening to this.

tDEP are one of the best bands ever in my opinion. The amount of raw energy counteracted with subtle emotion in all of their songs, coupled with incredibly sophisticated songwriting which is unlike any band I can think of creates an unreal experience for me. I'm a Ben Weinman fanboy

I think my issue with them, which seemed especially obvious during their live set, was that they have a lot of potential energy which builds up but never seems to get released. As though they're being bottlenecked by their staccato, erratic songwriting style. It was really weird live. I kept thinking that they were going to suddenly explode into a fury of energy but it never seemed to happened. Everyone else seemed to think it did though.

Yeah that's actually really strange to me, because I feel like they're constantly releasing that built up energy. I can definitely see how they might not connect with your tastes though. The only remotely similar thing I can think of that you listen to is SikTh, and I can't stand that band lol.

I fucking love this album. You gotta give it a try. I think many songs here do end up in explosions. One Of Us Is The Killer and Nothing's Funny have nice sections like that in their chorus.

I highly enjoyed their live show as well.

It divided fans, but damn it's both catchy and crazy and I absolutely love it. Not sure where I'd put it in ranking their discography though, somewhere in the middle probably. They were so good, incredible albums from 1999 to 2016. RIP DEP
