Guest review by

Writing a review for August Burns Red is a bit of a challenge. It's not so much that their sound is difficult to describe. Rather, the group's extremely consistent output of technically-inclined metalcore lends itself to redundancy from reviewing one album to the next. But while it may not be the band's best album (an accolade I award to Constellations), Rescue And Restore is definitely their most melodic and different.

Rating: 9 New song released:

I don't like the vocalist's change of tone, but the music is awesome as always.

I also don't like the direction ABR lyrics are taking. They used to be inspiring and powerful on Thrill Seeker but they declined ever since. Still, gonna be curious about the new album.

Rating: 9 I've been a fan ever since I first heard the greatness of Constellations, and then picked up Messengers. Leveler was just alright for me, but I'm looking forward to hearing this record, I'm sure it will be great.

Rating: 9 Picked this up today. Found it weird I could cause in this Media Markt I have never ever seen a Solid State Records album, but nontheless was glad it was there.

Rating: 9 It is rare for a straight-up metalcore album to be good these days. August Burns Red is really the last of these groups I think can still bring it (now that As I Lay Dying is dead). This is their most melodic album yet, too.
