It's not a good sign when the best song on an album is the first one. And with their self-titled album, Revocation start off brilliantly with opener "The Hive" before sinking into the mire of mediocrity.

But hey what a great song it is. There's a real demented modern thrash vibe here full of violence and wild abandon. The chorus especially comes across as the musical equivalent of a seizure with spastic riffs accentuated by bizarre little harmonics and death metal vocals.

Nah, I think it's just posting links to illegal downloads and leaks. Other links are fine I think

Rating: 8 This album is excellent, and certainly the band's best. Listening to 'Spastic', 'Invidious' and 'A visitation' alone give me the good metal chills.

Rating: 8 Good album, but Empire of the Obscene is still my favorite by them.

Rating: 8 Solid output. 8/10. Quality kind of drops off toward the end of the album for me. I think I enjoyed Chaos of Forms more.

Top tracks - Fracked and The Gift You Gave

Rating: 9 So amazing, I adore it. I expected less from this band, but this amazed me.
Their cover of Dyers' Eve was like a more groovy and technical version of Metallica's with Jason Newsted on vocals.
Mattybu - 04.09.2013 at 22:26
I don't think it's a coincidence Spastic is my favourite track here, the vocals are not good.

I love that they're never afraid to experiment with new material.

My thoughts exactly. it's pretty good stuff, bit stretched down in the end but maintained an amazing flow through out the record.

Favorite tracks - "Invidious" and "Spastic"( had some issue with vox, besides everything was just damn good)

Agreed. Now it's definitely one of the best metal albums I've acquired all year. I dare say the best record I've acquired this year.

Rating: 8 These guys never disappointed me!
deadone - 12.12.2013 at 02:03
Rating: 6 Starts of brilliantly with The Hive and is then a roller coaster ride through good and bad.

Basically they shouldn't slow down as they don't do slower stuff well enough. If you slow down, make it memorable.

I agree with the comment "more filler than killer."

It's got its moments. That Dyers Eye cover, for instance.
