I always wondered what the meaning of art was. As in, what is the main goal for the artist(s)? What would be the greatest achievement? If you ask yours truly, the main goal would be to make something greater than the creator(s) and spectators, a grand monument with such a force that it can stand proud and imposing against anything around it. Ulcerate did just that. Again.
Ulcerate practically need no introduction on this site anymore. They are endeared with the respect and awe of almost everyone that's heard them. If you haven't yet heard them I bet you're well curious about them now, eh?
On topic though, I too am seriously stoked for this one. Ulcerate are practically in a league of their own these days.
Man, tell me about it. I only realised recently what a truly monumental release The Destroyers of All was. I just can't stop listening to it lately. Great timing though, coz now my anticipation levels are celestial for Vermis.

Well Ulcerate posted a review on their Facebook page that says this is their best release yet. The way the reviewer described the album, it sounds like this is going to be one hell of a release. He said the Entropy song was the one most similar to Destroyers of All, but the rest of the album is more of a blend of all three of their albums. The review is definitely worth a read, and builds some nice anticipation.

I was happy getting another Destroyers, but a culmination of all Ulcerate's brilliance suits me even better.
I can't stop listening to this album...holy is it good. So far my #1 album this year and I don't see it getting dethroned at this point. Station Dysthymia is likely second.
I somehow knackered the onboard sound chip on my motherboard so I currently have my speakers plugged into my monitor. I refuse to listen to this album with that set up so when my external soundcard arrives I shall listen to it then. Hopefully Monday.
Agreed, which is one of the things I love about this. I don't think I can stress enough how important the closing to an album is to me.
There's no point starting an album off strong, if you're just going to shit the bed half way through. Then again...the entire album is fantastic, so when they close the album out with the explosive Await Rescission, you're left with that "holy I need to play this again" thought.
It is definitely as great as TDoA to say at least. Considering the fact that TDoA is less brutal than EIS, I thought that vermis will follow the same path but it is not the case here. This album managed to be more atmospheric and darker than the previous one and yet holding its brutality. A nominate for my next 10
Edit: my downloaded version does not have the last song. If that particular song is as good as the others, I would be happy

It's one of the best, trust me.
After listening to that one, I agree with you. The last song is such a prefect closer but the rest of album is also astonishing.
Ulcerate cannot disappoint. Really, level of consistency in their last three albums is ridiculously high as they are all masterpeices

This is one album that gathers frightening pace and momentum towards the end. No way to tiptoe around the sheer, brutal force it generates right at the depth. Scary shit.
