Ghost B.C. have proven to be a fairly divisive band over the past few years, adored by some and dismissed as just another gimmick band by others. The year 2013 was a productive one for the group as it saw the release of the full-length Infestissumam, and the EP in question in this review, If You Have Ghost.

What we basically have here is a collection of covers and a live recording of "Secular Haze", a song from Infestissumam that played a prominent role in the promotion of that album before its release. Browsing through the tracks, it becomes clear quite quickly that the covers are not of metal songs or artists. To some that might be a little disappointing, but based on the tone of Infestissumam, and the way that album changed the sound of Ghost from their debut, it does make sense.

My sentiments exactly.

Well, I enjoyed this much more than I did Infestissumam. At 25 minutes, it's a much easier listen than the 50 or so minutes the other album was. The covers are good and the live track isn't bad, either.

So glad I bought this for $5 rather than wasting full price on the album.

Just saw the clip to Secular Haze.

Hmmm. I don't understand the appeal in this kind of stuff. It doesn't go anywhere. It doesn't have enough psychadelia or groove or rock to make it interesting. The singer is especially irritating.

Costumes are cool but that's about it.
