19:29 - Ilham I didn't know Fnac was in Belgium. Not surprising actually they opened two stores in Morocco last year. I don't give them three more.
19:29 - !J.O.O.E.! Haha indeed. To be honest I just like having books around me, owning them. Just comforting knowing they're there.
19:28 - Zaphod Yeah, I know that feeling. I often buy books and look at the cover art a few times, flip some pages, read the blurb, hug it, but never actually start reading.
19:24 - !J.O.O.E.! Not since my course as much, however I often buy books with the intention of reading them and never do. I have dozens waiting for me.
19:24 - Ilham Interesting article on all this; a keynote speech from the man behind Shellac: [link]
19:23 - Zaphod Joe, I thought you didn't read? Ilham, the only record stores in Belgium these days are indie, all the major ones also went bankrupt :P well, we still have Fnac and Media Markt, but those aren't Belgian.
19:22 - flightoficarus86 Bottom line, I can't afford to pay $20 per album with all that I listen to.
Within the realm of experimentation in the metal genre, Sunn O))) and Ulver need little introduction. Both have consistently pushed boundaries over the past decade, the latter barely even being metal anymore at this point. So really, it was only a matter of time before some sort of joint effort between them spawned in 2014's Terrestrials, which can only be described as a complete and natural synthesis of the parties involved.
Eternal Return is probably one of the most eerie and stunning songs I've heard in a while. At first it sounds like the two bands are doing their best and their darkest Earth impression...which causes an unwilling swell of desolation to befall you. Once the vocals hit, it goes to a brand new level.
I mentioned in my review that it'd be cool if more work was done between the Sunn O))) guys and the Ulver guys, but in a way that's already a reality. Stephen O'Malley actually has his Æthenor project with Garm and Daniel O'Sullivan, anyone who enjoyed this collab should definitely look into it.
