Staff review by
You might know Conan better as the given name of a certain barbarian, or a red-headed American talk show host. Stoner doom metal fans will also be starting to associate the name, if they haven't already, with this steamroller of a band from the UK. Despite the title for their latest album, Blood Eagle doesn't see their sound soaring to new heights, and why? Because it's too damn heavy to lift off the ground.

Great, planet-sized sound and some nice songs going on, though repetition does set in from time to time. None of the songs quite match up to the single they released, though Horns For Teeth has some very sexy rhythms going on.

Not bad, but nothing great either. Not a lot of variety going on. The vocals (shouts) are kind of annoying as well.

^similar opinion I have.

Also, really liked Foehammer so the rest was a bit underwhelming. But the shouting vocals were quite a good point.

Good, solid stoner/doom. Not innovative, but pleasing to the ears. I just wish they'd have more variety in vocal department. Those shouts make all the songs sound similar.

Yes, it does get boring for the same reasons Joe and Erik pointed out. It might be too heavy for its own good.

Jesus, what a fantastic, rumbly sound. All style though, and not much substance to get out of this---otherwise this would get a higher rating. Actually, the good sound is probably the only thing causing me to rate it as high as I have.
