Staff review by

Savage Messiah offer on The Fateful Dark a journey down a very familiar road. This latest album bears all the trappings of your average melodic semi-thrash album, and often struggles to find some mark of personality, though it never succumbs entirely to mediocrity.

It's not too bad for a meat n potatoes romp.

Not exactly Thrash Metal. More Power Metal or dare I say it Speed Metal.

Maybe modern/melodic speed metal or something? I dunno. But I like this a lot. I feel like there aren't too many bands doing this kinda thing. They're either more power or thrash oriented, while these guys has got something from both sides. This album does have it's weak points though. I don't really like their hooky-choruses approach here. Luckily, there are a good chunk of interesting melodies to be found here.

A bit prog touch, heavy, thrashy, a bit soft and great way of singing, great approach this band has and best value in this album actually are cover versions specially DH because original DH sucks , boring band only how they lives are cover versions lol
